Action Jackson Garden
When Bookworm Gardens approached to work on a garden installation inspired by the children’s book Action Jackson I was drawn to portraying elements of Pollock’s barn studio. The book tells the story of a summer with Jackson Pollock when he created his famous fractal paintings. Pollock would spend time at the beach connecting with the environment and when he returned to his studio he would replicate the movement and feelings he took in while at the beach. I wanted to develop a space that would allow visitors a moment to connect to the garden surroundings and have opportunity express themselves similarly.
